Oh I see. Why shouldn't we have some of the fun? I'm just a big kid at heart. I think ultimately you may be right and once the Lego comes out I may not get a look in. Over 1200 pieces - It's not as if he doesn't have any Lego already! I've always wanted someone to buy me a Star Wars Battle Cruiser or something - it would keep me quiet for hours.

Just as I was getting all misty eyed and nostalgic with Phyllis' fun with Lego. :D Don't miss not treading on Legos or finding the pieces everywhere. I always wished for a Lego magnet to making clearing up after play easier.

Happy Childen in Need Day!

I usually groan and can't wait 'til it's over but I've got into the spirit a bit more this year. My daughter's year are running stalls at school today to raise money. She and her friend are selling Pusdey cookies and lemonade. We had a massive baking session - am a bit fed up of the sight of bear shaped cookies!

Had to google "Pudsey cookies" -- I learned they're in the shape of a bear, after a BBC character, and commonly turn up at "Children in Need" fundraisers. But what, pray tell, do the cookies taste like? Are they like gingerbread?

Can I strongly recommend The Indian Doctor to those of you who can get BBC iplayer. It's got Alexander Vlahos in it (as in Hamlet in Sheffield) and the first episode had me laughing out loud. Like Moving On it's not your regular daytime prog.

Thanks for the recommendation smallhobbit. I've watched the first two episodes today. Any programme that features Marmite in the second episode is alright by me :)

Olenza, the cookies were made following a recipe on the back of the Pudsey cookie-cutter. It was a shortbread type of biscuit. I was glad about that as I'm not very keen on gingerbread (not that I was supposed to be eating them)

I'll be watching Children in Need on BBC a bit later just after 8pm when I think there will be a trailer for the DW Christmas special.

Mmm...shortbread. Love it in any form. There's a bakery in Rockford that makes a chocolate chip shortbread that is just to die for.

Last night, my husband and I watched the last episode of the season of Doctor Who, so now I am really jonesing for a preview, even if it is awhile before we can get ahold of it.

I had to look up "jonesing". I think it means craving :).

The trailer is up on YouTube already

Slang expression originally used to describe craving for drugs, especially for those in rehab; it's expanded for any intense craving. Regarded as an urban expression.

Let Barry White (and Chris Rock) explain! :D (from the film Space Jam).

Keeping up with the Jones is what Hyacinth Bucket (sorry, Bouquet :)) is trying to do,; not a related expression.

Marmite news (old, but still...)
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/de-bon....st-1133338.html
Might not work at that, has been suggested they would split into love/hate Marmite contingents!!

Thanks for the explanation - yet another example of two cultures separated by the same language!
